Barbara
K. Letcher
Expertise:
Barbara's practice encompasses all aspects of employment
law. She is an OSBA Board Certified Specialist in Labor
and Employment Law and is a frequent lecturer on employment
law issues. She counsels employers with respect to human
resources issues and compliance with state and federal
labor laws.
In addition, Barbara represents employers in civil litigation
in both state and federal courts in Ohio. She has appeared
before the National Labor Relations Board, the Ohio Civil
Rights Commission, Unemployment Compensation Review Commission,
and the Industrial Commission of Ohio.
Barbara also has substantial experience representing
insurers and businesses in disputes over insurance coverage.
Professional Associations:
Barbara has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer
for Labor and Employment Law by Law & Politics magazine
and in the Who’s Who Registry of Executives and Professionals.
She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management
and the Human Resources Association of Central Ohio,
as well as the Labor and Employment Law Section of the
Ohio Bar Association and the Labor and Employment Law
Committee of the Columbus Bar Association.
Education:
Barbara earned her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health
Professions from The Ohio State University in 1979. She
earned her law degree from The Ohio State University
Moritz College of Law in 1990.
Community Service:
Barbara remains involved with her alma mater and has
served on the boards of the Stadium Scholarship Dormitory
Alumni Society and The Ohio State University Student
Loan Foundation. She is a past president of both boards.
Barbara also served as an adjunct professor at The Ohio
State University Moritz College of Law, teaching appellate
advocacy. Barbara Letcher is a member of the GETDOT board, a professional networking organization.
