Primary Practice Areas
- Counseling institutions of higher education in all
manner of employment, student, and administrative matters,
including, promotion and tenure, student discipline,
conflicts of interest, public records, FERPA and Clery
Act compliance, affirmative action, endowment spending,
trustee matters, governance, distance learning, collective
bargaining, contracts, appointment letters, construction,
and federal contracting.
- Advising public and private employers in labor and
employment law matters, including union avoidance and
collective bargaining, discipline and discharge, ADA,
FMLA, and COBRA compliance, and conducting staff and
supervisor training in the areas of anti-harassment,
discipline, documentation, and ADA and FMLA compliance.
- Representing public and private institutions in a
wide variety of fora, ranging from the Ohio Court of
Claims to the State Employment Relations Board to the
Ohio Civil Rights Commission to all levels of the state
and federal judicial branches.
- Serving as Local and
Conflict Counsel to various law firms.
